PET owners Cirencester can attend a microchipping event this weekend to help protect their cat and dogs from being lost or stolen.
Next month it becomes law in Wales that all dogs have to be microchipped by the time they are eight weeks old. England will also adopt this law in April 2016.
Pet owners can bring their cat or dog to Pets at Home in Cirencester Retail Park at any time on Saturday, February 28 or Sunday, March 1 and get their pet microchipped for £10.
The chip is roughly the size of a grain of rice, fits under the pet’s skin and contains information about its owner, making it easier for both to be reunited should they become separated.
