THE emergency services in Gloucestershire have been praised for their skill and speed after rescuing an injured man who had fallen from a ladder in Tetbury last night.
Police, fire crews and paramedics were called to Chipping Court in Tetbury yesterday evening to rescue a who had fallen from a ladder onto scaffolding.
The 48-year-old man was working on renovations for The Crown Inn at around 4pm when he fell from one level of scaffolding to a level below.
Fire fighters from Tetbury, Cirencester and Cheltenham raced to the scene, as well as the police and paramedics.
Standard columnist Lesley Brain was at the scene and said she thought the speed and skill of which the emergency services worked was very impressive.
She said she watched the paramedics go up the scaffolding and assess the man before he was transferred by the crane to the ground and into the ambulance.
A spokesman from the ambulance service said the man received minor back and pelvis injuries.
