A TALENTED video producer and former Cirencester College student who died in a road accident in Vietnam is set to be remembered with a dream internship for the third year running.

Josh Edmonds, from Chalford, was 22-years-old and three months into the trip of a lifetime in South East Asia when his motorbike crashed with a lorry on a country road on January 16, 2011, killing him instantly.

The former Deer Park School pupil was already being recognised as an emerging talent in the world of video production. After studying video production at Cirencester College he joined Ministry of Sound (MoS) as an intern and went on to produce more than 200 videos for the London-based club.

After his death Josh’s parents teamed up with MoS and Cirencester College to offer young people in Gloucestershire the opportunity to win a month’s internship at the legendary club, in memory of their son. Following the success of the scheme over the last two years, it will now be up for grabs for the third year running.

Josh’s parents, Jane Harris and Jimmy Edmonds, said: “Josh lived and breathed music. As well as his talents as a video producer he had an amazing knack of taking the stress out of any situation and making work fun.”

Cirencester College head of media Andy Freedman, who will co-ordinate the internship, said: “Josh was really enthusiastic about video production. He developed high levels of technical skill and explored the frontiers of the medium with great creativity. This is an outstanding opportunity with Ministry of Sound for a young person who shares some of Josh’s ambition.”

Ministry of Sound CEO Lohan Presencer said: “Josh was a fantastically creative and enthusiastic member of the team at MoS. He originally joined us as an intern, learning the ropes, and was successful in gaining full time employment. His was a tragic loss to his friends at MoS.”

She added: “Hopefully this placement will give someone the same opportunities that Josh had and continue his memory.”

Applications are open in January and the deadline is February 27th.
