A PAIR of horses loose on the A417 early this morning have been caught by police after they were reported by a member of the public.
The horses were reported at around midnight and after 20 minutes the police had the situation under control.
Officers walked the horses back to Cirencester along the A417before finding them a place in a stable overnight.
The horses are described as one brown and one brown and white, both wearing long coats.
Tweeting about the incident the police claimed that it had been foggy and quite a dangerous situation.
They wrote: “The horses or someone could easily have been killed tonight on the A417.”
