GLOUCESTERSHIRE Police have issued a warning to people travelling in the cold weather to check their vehicles are ready before they leave.
Due to the possibility of ice on the roads the police tweeted a photo of a tyre which was badly worn to highlight the dangers of not checking tires.
They tweeted: “Winter is here. Check your tyres for the safety of all.”
They also posted a photo of a frozen windscreen on a police car, advising people to clear their whole windscreen before setting off and not to simply leave a car running as a substitute.
