CELEBRITY duo Pudsey and Ashleigh helped launch the Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home Lottery last night, with all proceeds going towards building a shelter for abandoned animals.

The pair appeared at the Cotswold Dogs and Cats Home Furniture Emporium in Tetbury to promote and open registration for a charity lottery in aid of the planned home.

Ashleigh said: “We are thrilled to be able to help the Cotswold Dogs and Cats Home move even closer to opening their new facility which will benefit thousands of animals in the local area for years to come.

“I’ve never heard of anybody doing their own lottery for fundraising and it’s just a brilliant idea and a brilliant cause.”

Mary Liley, head of fundraising for CDCH said: “We are so grateful to Ashleigh and Pudsey for taking the time from their very busy schedule and supporting us in this way.

“Everyone who signs up will be moving us one step nearer to opening this centre which is so needed.”

The organisation is trying to raise the final chunk of an impressive £2.5million to make the their dream of a centre near Stroud housing up to 750 animals a reality.
