THE BATTLE for the Cotswold constituency is heating up with the latest potential candidate announced this week.
The Cotswolds Labour Party has selected trainee solicitor Manjinder Kang from Tamworth as their candidate for the general election in May 2015.
Speaking after the meeting Manjinder said: “I am delighted to have received the backing of the members in the Cotswolds to take on the challenge to elect a Labour MP here in 2015.
“I shall be working hard over the next few months, with our local Party and the community, to ensure that the Cotswolds have a Labour MP to be their voice on these and many other issues come 2015.”
Andy Woolley, Chair the Cotswolds Labour party said: “I'm delighted we have selected Manjinder as our candidate. He has shown the membership of the Cotswolds Labour Party that he could make a real difference for the people of the constituency as its Labour MP.
“I believe that our policies and our excellent candidate will convince the electorate that there is a real alternative for our area. Our members are delighted to get behind Manjinder in his campaign to bring change to the Cotswolds.”
