POLICE are appealing for a dog walker to come forward who may have witnessed an attempted vehicle theft in South Cerney.

The incident happened outside a house on Station Road between 9pm and 9.30pm on Thursday, October 23.

Thieves gained entry to the green and yellow Mitsubishi tipper lorry and once inside damaged cables and wiring in an attempt to start it.

Nothing was taken from the vehicle and the lorry was not removed.

It’s thought that a dog walker may have witnessed the attempted theft and disturbed the offenders.

Officers are urging anyone who may have been walking their dog in the area at the time to come forward.

Anyone who may have information on this incident is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 472 of October 23.
