STUDENTS from Malmesbury School were given the opportunity to learn about ceramics through a course at Bath Spa University during the summer.
Year 12 pupils from Malmesbury and took part in a ceramic enrichment programme taught by Sarah Purvey, which emphasised the importance of the relationship between 2d research and 3d form within art and design courses.
The five week course, which was also attended by students from Hardenhuish School in Chippenham, supports students’ portfolios, from applications to interview for Higher Education places as well as their year 13 studies.
Sarah Purvey who taught on the course said: “Thank you for the months of working I had within Malmesbury School. Your students and staff were fantastic to work with.”
As part of the course the students took part in research-based drawing a drawing Master Class in the Barn, led by Professor Michael Pennie and studio sessions with clay, hosted by Hardenhuish School
