A WILTSHIRE school and a pub have joined forces to to ensure the bellies of youngsters are full at lunchtime.

Since September, Lean and Garsdon school has been working with the Rose and Crown, to provide home-cooked, nutritious school lunches.

Publican Wayne Jones and his wife Katherine decided to form the partnership in an effort to forge links between the pub and the community.

Headteacher Kay Vousden said: "Our new school meals have been very well received by the children and we now have more than half the school enjoying hot school lunches. The partnership with the Rose and Crown has given the children a greater voice and their feedback has meant we've been able to tweak the menu during the term. So far, the new initiative has been a great success."
