A HISTORIC Tetbury school is launching a campaign to help forge links with the town with a colourful poster campaign.

Featuring pupil characters from past decades, Forties to Noughties is designed to remind the town of its close relationship with St Mary’s school.

As part of the campaign there will be a school History Week later this month and throughout the autumn pupils are studying places around the town such as the Market House.

“We’re committed to building upon our local heritage and bringing together our school family again,” said headteacher Jo Woolley.

“St Mary’s is at the heart of Tetbury and has a vital connection with it – we want our children to understand and value that.”

The campaign aims to engage the many generations of former pupils and staff that still live in the Tetbury area.

Many people are currently re-connecting with the school through its new website and Facebook page.

“As part of our review, we have had input from three generations with links to the school,” explained Mrs Woolley.

“Our aim is to begin a process that will benefit St Mary’s - not just for our current pupils, but for three generations to come.”

Specialist identity consultants, Paperhorse are working with St Mary’s and other schools in Gloucestershire to help develop its vision and create a new branding.

Former pupils can get involved and share their memories of St Mary’s by visiting the stmarystetbury.com and at facebook.com/WeAreStMarys weblink.
