VISTORS will be able to let their imagination fly away with them this Halloween thanks to a Myths and Legends event at Bourton's Birdland.

Birdland Park and Gardens, in Bourton-on-the-Water, will be playing host to a spooky Halloween event this October half term.

Children and adults can discover why owls are thought to be wise and where the legend of the phoenix came from in a series of talks from experts.

Visitors can also come face to face with the undertaker bird and take part in quiz trails, feeding displays and more.

Birdland manager Simon Blackwell said: “Birds have played a huge part in the myths and legends of every culture since the dawn of history and even today they still feature strongly in popular fiction from Hogwarts famous owlery to the mockingjay bird in The Hunger Games.

“We hope this event will provide a fun and entertaining introduction in to the fascinating world of birds."

Discover over 500 exotic and rare birds from around the world at Birdland including flamingos, birds of prey, parrots, kookaburras, king penguins, snowy owls and more.

Half term Halloween fun runs from Saturday, October 25 to Sunday, November 2.
