A NEW craft business has launched in Lechlade offering people workshops in jewellery making, Christmas papercrafts, card making and more.

Launched by passionate crafters Karen Holland and Jennie Rainsford, Lechlade Craft Barn, set up the business because they were fed up of having to travel so far to take part in creative workshops.

"We’ve both been crafting for many years and have gathered an array of materials and knowledge,” said Jennie. “Like many of our friends, we were fed up with having to travel so far to participate in workshops and initially thought about setting up the barn just for ourselves.

"We had so much positive feedback from like-minded friends that we decided to launch Lechlade Craft Barn as a place to come and enjoy lots of different crafts.

The pair will lead some of the workshops themselves but will also bring in experts to direct different types of crafts.

The first workshops begin in October and November with jewellery making for beginners, Christmas papercrafts, card making and creating a vintage door wreath from old book pages.

Next year the duo hope to expand the workshop to include mosaic making, needle felting, patchwork and other textile crafts.
