MALMESBURY School has unveiled its new uniform – in a move that’s been welcomed by both parents and pupils.

The new uniform, a grey jumper with a red stripe, an optional school house tie, and a white shirt with a school badge, was introduced after the school set up a uniform review group.

Students and parents carried out surveys and spoke to potential suppliers, before recommending the change to the school governors.

Tim Gilson, headteacher of Malmesbury School, said: “I have had a lot of really positive feedback from students, parents and members of the local community about how smart the new uniform looks.”

Mr Gilson added: “I believe that uniform helps students feel proud of their school and avoids them having to worry about wearing what the latest fashion dictates.”

The old uniform is being phased out between now and Easter, next year.
