A TIRED old skittle alley at a Cirencester pub has undergone a bright new makeover, transforming into a dynamic new room fit for parties, socialising or even business meetings.

Party planners of the Cotswolds can look forward to the launch of The Stable Bar, based at The Golden Cross on Black Jack Street.

Not wanting just to spruce up the room with a lick of paint, landlord Mark Lindesay has turned to regular customer and top designer Gary Birks to revamp the room.

The Stable Bar has now been completely made over by Gary as well as Bethany Rose, who specialises in interiors, turning the once under-used space into a multi-function hub.

"Gary’s advice was inspirational and I am very pleased with the outcome," says Mark. "He worked closely with a new, local interior design firm, Bethany Rose Interiors, and the result has been to create what I believe is one of the best meeting spaces I have seen."

The Stable Bar can host events ranging from weddings, private parties, birthdays, corporate events and more.

With its sporting theme, featuring prints and pictures of countryside pursuits adorning the previously tired, grey walls, the Stable Bar also boasts three large-screen TVs, which will be showing live sporting events via Sky Sports and BT Sport.

Mark has also introduced a new menu for the room, featuring pizzas ands paninis.
