A TENTH year of A-Level success is being celebrated by students at Cirencester College as 99.5 per cent of students achieved a pass and 130 A*s were awarded.

54 per cent of students achieved grades A* to B and over 100 students on professional vocational courses gained a triple distinction or better.

The college’s principal Kim Clifford said: “Once again, a fantastic set of results, I am really proud of our students. I would also like to thank the staff for their excellent support and teaching.

“These results will give our students a major advantage in the next exciting phase of their lives and we wish them every success in the future.”

One of the college’s highest achievers Thomas Titcombe today received four A*s, in maths, further maths, chemistry and physics.

He was delighted with his results and confirmed that he had worked hard for his results, saying: “I was spending almost every free I had in the library for the last few months.”

Thomas was delighted with his results and plans to go on to study at Durham university.

Steven King is a mature student who today received an A in chemistry and an A in biology, meaning he can go on to study pharmacology at Bristol, Bath or Leicester.

He said “I’ve come back into education after working in retail for over a decade. I had a change of circumstances and decided to come back to college.”

Ailish Conduit received a B in history, a B in religious studies and a Distinction* in social care and will be heading to Norland College to study Early Years Development.

She said: “I’m really really happy. It was so hard, but it was all worth it!”

James Weller collected A-Levels including an A in electronics, a B in computing and B in maths.

Having received the grades he needed to go to Bath to study computer science he described himself as, nervous but really happy with his results.

Some subjects at the college had exceptional success with 20 A* grades in maths, 30 A*-A grades in biology and 47 A*-A grades in psychology.
