A MAN was assaulted in Cheltenham on Hope Street between 4.15pm and 4.45pm on Saturday July 19.

The victim, a 47-year-old man from Cheltenham was walking along the road with a friend when he was struck to the back of head with a piece of wood.

The offender and victim had a brief exchange of words before the offender ran off in the direction of Addis Road, leaving a purple Raleigh Pioneer pushbike that he was riding prior to the incident in the middle of the road.

The offender is described as male, white, in his early-mid thirties, around 5ft 8ins tall and of medium build. He had brown hair and was wearing a grey cap, black t-shirt, blue jeans and white trainers.
