A FAIRFORD after-school football club has netted new equipment enabling them to play competitive matches for the first time thanks to local support.

Youngsters from Fairford Town Primary School After School Football Club had only been able to train occasionally and take part in six-a-side tournaments.

Now, thanks to a £500 donation from the Fairford Town Charity, the club has been able to buy new nets and posts which is allowing them to play league matches against schools in the area.

The club was formed in 2011 and has two teams. The Sharks are made up of Year 6 pupils, with the Tigers represented by Year 5 children.
