A CIRENCESTER school has joined forces with a Cotswold nursery to launch a unique and festive fundraising scheme.

Students from Cirencester Deer Park School will be selling real Christmas trees, provided by Cotswold Fir, at the school this weekend.

The schoolchildren have been learning about the trees during their lesson time and visited Shurdington Tree Farm to collect the festive spruces.

As a gesture of goodwill, Cotswold Fir will make a donation to Deer Park for every tree that the pupils sell.

Helen Charlesworth, assistant head at Deer Park, said: “We are really excited about this new fundraising initiative between the Friends of Deer Park School and Cotswold Fir.

“We hope that it will be a great success and become part of our annual fundraising for the school.”

People will be able to buy their Christmas trees from Deer Park School on Sunday, December 8 between 10am and 4pm.

Trees can be pre-ordered by visited www.cotswoldfir.com.
