Netheravon woman who stabbed man in stomach is caged for ten years after being found guilty of attempted murder

YESTERDAY at Winchester Crown Court, Elaine Pledge, 55 from Netheravon was found guilty of attempted murder. She was sentenced to ten years imprisonment.
At 9:45 on Saturday 11th May 2013, Elaine Pledge (also known as Jackie) walked into the Netheravon & District Working Mens Club.
She went into the kitchen, picked up a knife and then walked up to a man who was stood at the bar. She stabbed the man in the stomach before attempting to leave.
She was detained by people in the club until police arrived.
The victim, a local man aged 52, tried to walk home but an ambulance was called and he was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital for treatment. He has since made a full recovery.
DC Mark Lewis said: 'Wiltshire Police remain determined to take a strong stance against violent crime, especially crimes involving the use of knives. The sentence which has been passed today accurately reflects the seriousness and circumstances of the offence. We hope that this will bring closure for the victim, who was required to attend court to give evidence and recall the events of that terrible incident.'
