The Rock nightclub in Bishops Walk, Cirencester to close after 22 years of business
CIRENCESTER’S only purpose built nightclub will be closing its doors for good following this weekend’s bank holiday celebrations.
The Rock and Times Square, located on Cricklade Street in Cirencester town centre, will close permanently after its owners decided to sell and move on to pastures new.
Biagio Vitale, owner of the club, said: “At the end of January I decided that due to pressures from other projects, I would test the waters and, through an agent, market Times Square and the Rock Club.
“My son Seppe, who is also general manager of the Rock, and me both felt that the time was right for a change.”
The Rock has been the staple of Cirencester’s nightlife for the last 22 years and has played host to many memorable celebrations by Cirencester natives.
Mr Vitale said: “It has been an absolute privilege and a pleasure to be part of Cirencester history.
“We surpassed all expectations and achieved the incredible milestone of keeping a nightclub, for all those years, under the same ownership.”
Old and new customers are invited to celebrate the Rock’s achievement at the club this bank holiday weekend.
