Homelessness in Gloucestershire to be tackled by new charity P3

A NEW approach to tackling homelessness in Gloucestershire has been introduced.

Social inclusion charity P3 has taken on responsibility for the delivery of services to homeless people across the county.

The charity – which aims to give vulnerable people the skills and confidence to look after themselves – will provide two new hostels with a total of 31 beds for homeless people across the county, an increase of ten on what was previously available.

Cotswold District Council’s cabinet member for housing and communities Cllr Carole Topple (Con, Riversmeet) welcomed the new approach.

“The hostels will provide a safe place for P3 to work with individuals and get to understand the underlying reasons why they have become homeless,” she said.

“They can then provide a wide range of help enabling people to get their lives back on track, including support on issues such as housing, health, employment, training, education and addiction.”
