Help bring unique art project by Julian Wild to Cirencester's Corinium museum as part of the Museums at Night festival

ART lovers from Cirencester are being asked to help bring a unique project to the town.

Cirencester’s Corinium Museum is in the running to host an unusual project by well-regarded artist Julian Wild as part of May’s Museums at Night festival.

The project, which is part of the Connect10 programme run by cultural organisation Culture24 and funded by the National Lottery, involves ten artists coming up with ideas for art projects and invites museums to bid to host them.

Julian Wild’s project will invite visitors to the museum to help create a series of structures with glow in the dark plastic tubing.

The Corinium Museum is up against competition from others in Shropshire, Newcastle and Stoke and the winning venue will be awarded £2,000 towards the cost of hosting the project.

Corinium Museum learning development officer Emma Stuart urged Cotswold residents to get behind the bid.

“We were really impressed by what Julian has to offer and it would be great if the public chose us to stage his exhibit,” she said.

“Being shortlisted as one of the potential venues is an achievement in itself but now we want to go one better and win the popular vote.”
