AN INSPIRED Cotswold mum has created a nifty new invention to help parents keep a check on portion sizes – now she is looking for a funding boost so she can share it with others.
With four children under the age of nine, Annabel Sabbagh from Siddington knows how tough it can be to get the balance right when it comes to food.
That is where JEF comes in. Just Enough Food (JEF) is a body-shaped portion checker, which can help adults and children get the right amount of food on their plate without the bother of counting calories or using weighing scales.
The invention is the brainchild of 41-year-old Annabel, who is hoping that with the right marketing, funding and advice, it could soon be a household tool for mums across the country.
"I’ve shown a local GP and other various health professionals and they all think it’s brilliant, but I need assistance from nutritionists to make sure the portion sizing is right," Annabel said. "I’m hoping that investors will see this product’s potential and want to help develop it."
Annabel added getting her invention off the ground would be a dream come true because it would make her children proud and give her the chance to give them a better start in life.
"This would really change all of our lives," she said. "I want to show them that if you follow through with your vision and never give up, you will eventually succeed."
