Council charge for business banners

BUSINESSES in Cirencester will now be charged £50 to display a banner following recent changes by Cirencester Town Council.

Councillors debated the fee, which previously did not exist, for some time at their recent monthly meeting.

Cllr Gary Selwyn questioned how the council would regulate the banners.

Chief executive Andrew Tubb said it was down to councillors to approve any banners and added that he hoped it would be a chance for smaller local businesses to promote themselves.
