A MUSIC shop will be aiming to hit the right note with its new Cirencester store which opened this week.
Singer songwriter Steve Ashley was on hand to open ToneZone Music in The Woolmarket, Dyer Street, which has been set up musicians Barbara and Aid Miller.
Barbara said it was an ideal move as they saw a gap in the market in Cirencester and wanted to bring their young daughters up in the Cotswolds.
"We've always wanted to settle here in Gloucestershire," she said. "So we saw it as an opportunity to provide local musicians with all the equipment and advice they need and bring up our family in this great part of the world.
"Being independent has given us the edge over the larger musical outlets. Our customers get the best of both worlds - a local shop service with internet prices and we are looking forward to developing relationships with our customers."
The couple used to run a successful guitar shop in Bideford, North Devon, and Aid said the aim for the Cirencester shop was much more than selling instruments.
"We worked really hard to establish an extensive tuition network in Devon which is a service that we want to offer in Cirencester giving everyone a chance to learn to play an instrument," he said. "We welcome teachers to contact us so that we can pass on their details."
The shop stocks a comprehensive range of musical instruments, equipment, sheet music, accessories, as well as an instrument repair service.
