Students coursework lost in school computer theft
11:08am Thursday 18th October 2012 in News
STUDENTS’ coursework was lost when burglars broke into a school and stole computers.
Two white Apple iMacs were stolen in the raid at Royal Wootton Bassett Academy overnight between Monday and Tuesday.
The work saved on them had not been backed up.
PCSO Andy Singfield said: “We have details of the serial numbers and other markings for these machines and would very much like to hear from any business or individual approached to buy them.
“If the computers are not recovered the students face losing their course work which will be a big disappointment for them.”
The HD 2400 XT Macs, keyboards and mice are valued together at more than £1200. Damage estimated at up to £1,500 was caused during the break-in.
Anyone with information can call police on 101 ext 730819 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
