Crime drops by more than half in Tetbury

CRIME in Tetbury reduced by more than half last month.

There were six substantiated crimes in the town last month, compared to 15 in September 2011.

No incidents of violence were recorded during this period, compared with two 12 months previously, and one incident of criminal damage, in comparison to six last year.

One burglary was recorded, down from two in September 2011, and theft also decreased from five incidents to four.

There were no recorded incidents of drug-related crimes, fraud or crimes falling into the ‘other’ category, matching last year’s figures.

Overall, 80 crimes were recorded in the town since April 1 2012, in comparison with 79 in the same period 12 months previously.

Police community support officer Sue Fellows said she was delighted by the figures, adding: “Tetbury remains a very, very safe place to live.”
