Met Office warns of heavy rain and strong winds in the South West
1:29pm Tuesday 16th October 2012 in News By Standard reporter
The Met Office has issued a weather warning for the South West. The warning was issued at 11.51am today and advises people to be aware of severe weather tonight.
Further heavy rain, accompanied by strong winds, is expected tonight and will continue into Wednesday morning.
Forecesters are warning that the already saturated ground will create a risk of localised disruption from flooding.
Up to 10mm of rain is expected, with 20mm falling in some areas. Forecasters have also warned strong winds will remove some leaves and small branches from trees, potentially adding to drainage problems.
