Weather warning issued after road accident near Fairford

A WOMAN was left trapped in her car after a crash on the A417 at Meysey Hampton crossroad, between Fairford and Poulton this morning.

Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the incident at 10.41am. Fire crews from Fairford and Cirencester Community Fire Stations attended the incident and managed to free the woman, who was take to hospital by ambulance. Another woman had already been released without injury before the fire service arrived.

A spokesman for Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “It would appear that the weather was a contributory factor to this collision and the service would like to remind people to take extra care when driving in wet conditions.”
