Philosophical debate in Malmesbury

THE art of philosophising returns to Malmesbury next week with the arrival of the fifth Philosophy Town Festival.

Some of the country’s top academics, historians and philosophers are expected at the three-day event, including radio and TV contributor Dr Angie Hobbs, Emeritus Professor of Moral Philosophy at Kent University Richard Norman and writer Martin Cohen.

The official programme starts on October 19) at the Old Bell with a discussion by George MacDonald Ross. Saturday sees lectures in the library at the Abbey House Gardens, while on Sunday debate returns to the Old Bell.

A series of three presentations will be run during Friday discussing the role Philosophytown can play in the regeneration of Malmesbury High Street.
