Stars tee off for charity in Cirencester

SPORTS stars have teed-off in Cirencester to raise more than their game in a charity golf day.
Ashes winning captain Michael Vaughan and BBC football presenter Dan Walker teamed up with their tailor Tom Wharton, of Cirencester-based Barrington Ayre, who organised the event.
More than £6,000 was raised from the golf day at Cirencester Golf Course on Wednesday September 26, which was is in aid of the Sheffield Children’s Hospital and The Pied Piper children’s hospital appeal for Gloucestershire.
Along with a top round of golf and a three-course-meal, the day included an auction by Richard Edmonds Classic and Vintage Car Auctions and an opportunity to win an Audi.
TaylorMade Golf and other local businesses including Vérité Louise, Steppes Travel and The Golden Cross Inn all donated a number of prizes to make the event a success.
Tom said: "The guys were fantastic so a big thanks to all who got involved including Cirencester Golf Course and their pro, Ed Goodwin. We raised a lot of money for two very worthwhile charities."
He added: "I just wish I had played a little better."
