Man injured in knifepoint robbery at Malmesbury jewellers

A KNIFEPOINT robbery has reportedly taken place at a jewellers on Malmesbury High Street this morning, leaving a local man injured.
A man is believed to have threatened staff at County Jewellers in Malmesbury with a knife at around 9.45am today.
Police cars and rapid response vehicles from Great Western Ambulance Service rushed to the scene.
A local businessman, believed to be in his 50s, suffered minor hand injuries in the alleged assault. A woman, believed to be a shop worker, was not injured but is being treated for shock by paramedics.
It is currently unclear whether anything was stolen in the robbery.
Police are at the scene but the area is now believed to be safe.
