Man arrested for sexual assault at Cirencester bar

A LOCAL man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault after he touched a woman's bottom at Mad Hatter wine bar in Cirencester.
Police were called to the bar after a 32-year-old woman reported a man had put his hand up her skirt and touched her bottom at 11.45pm on September 22.
When police tried to arrest the 49-year-old man, from Chesterton, he attempted to strike a female officer.
He was detained at Cheltenham police station and released on bail until November 15 while further statements are taken and CCTV is reviewd.
