Malmesbury man accused with grevious bodily harm for Cheltenham nightclub assault

A MALMESBURY man will stand trial next month accused of wounding another man with intent to cause grievous bodily harm outside a Cheltenham night club.

Ian Church, of Whychurch Farm, Crudwell Road, pleaded not guilty at Gloucester Crown Court this week to causing grievous bodily harm with intent to Paul Tabb on April 6.

The 35-year-old also denied an alternative charge of unlawfully wounding Mr Tabb.

A trial to run for up to three days has been scheduled to start on October 29.

Evidence that Mr Church had been provoked inside the club by Mr Tabb before the incident outside was accepted by the Crown, the court was told.
