New home appeal for Mo and Joe as part of Rabbit Awareness Week

Too cute to resist; fluffy brothers Mo and Joe are in need of a new home
A PLUCKY pair of rabbits, who have come on leaps and bounds after months of abuse, are looking for a new home.
Mo and Joe are 18-month-old brothers, who were found by the RSPCA South Cotswold Branch in a matted, soiled and petrified state.
After being kept in a hutch with barely enough room to make two hops or stretch up to full height, the little fluff balls could not wait to explore their new surroundings at the animal shelter.
Now the brothers are looking for a new home and to help people find out more about looking after rabbits, an event will be held on Saturday, September 22 at Nailsworth Garden Centre from 10am to 4pm.
The event celebrates a national Rabbit Awareness Week, which runs until Saturday.
An RSPCA spokesman said: “Rabbits are one of the most misunderstood and neglected animals and their intelligence and need for love and stimulation make this all the more heart breaking.
“The improvement and joy that Mo and Joe now have in their lives makes the hard work worthwhile and these two are a perfect example of why we help so many animals that suffer through a lack of knowledge and understanding.
“Since being with us they have come on in leaps and bounds - their diet is now totally changed resulting in a good appetite and no more dirty bottoms.
“They have a large hutch and play out in a huge outdoor run each day and it is clear to see the enjoyment they get from running around and being able to investigate everything.
“They are easy to handle, accept grooming without problem and all in all are totally transformed and now enjoying life to the full. They will make a lovely addition to a rabbit loving household.”
To adopt Mo and Joe or any other rabbit, call Nicola Stanton on 07772 737 503.
And to find out more about rabbits, visit Nailsworth Garden Centre between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, September 22, where rabbit expert Nicola will be on hand to answer any questions and microchipping will also be on offer for £10.
