Tetbury man admits assault and stealing victim's trainers

A TETBURY man has admitted assaulting another man in order to steal his trainers.

James Gray, aged 25, had been accused of robbing Wayne Merchant of his footwear but had denied the charge.

Instead he admitted assaulting Mr Merchant causing him actual bodily harm and theft of the trainers worth £44.99 on January 19 this year and. He was formally found not guilty of robbery.

Gray, formerly of New Church Street, Tetbury, is now living at an undisclosed address address.

The case was adjourned until October 12 for pre-sentence reports to be prepared.
