Van driver sought by police following fatal crash on A435
4:00pm Sunday 16th September 2012 in News
A VAN driver has been asked to contact police after a motorcyclist died following a crash on the A435.
The crash happened at around 8am on Friday, September 14, near Gotherington, and involved a red Yamaha motorcycle and a silver Peugeot 306.
The motorcyclist, a 47-year-old man from Evesham, was taken to Bristol’s Frenchay Hospital after the collision, but died on the same day.
A 20-year-old man from Apperley was arrested on suspicion of driving without due care and attention and has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He currently remains in police custody.
Following information from people at the scene officers believe the driver of a white van may have witnessed the collision and be able to help them with their investigation.
The van was originally described as a BT van, however enquiries have been made with the company and none of their staff were in the area at the time.
This potential witness is urged to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 52 of September 14 as soon as possible.
