The Stone Barn at Aldsworth has been permitted to hold up to 100 events in a year

A WEDDING venue in Aldsworth has been allowed to almost double the amount of events it holds in a year.
The Stone Barn had previously applied to remove the condition on its planning permission restricting the amount of events it could hold in a year to 52.
However, this was refused by Cotswold District Council ’s planning committee following concerns from residents about the amount of traffic in the village.
It has since developed a plan to restrict guests from travelling through Aldsworth, including giving every guest a map showing them the correct way to travel to and from the venue, and applied to allow to hold up to 100 events in a year for the next three years.
Cllr Carole Topple (Con, Riversmeet) said she was satisfied the new proposal addressed resident’s concerns.
“On balance we’ve now done as much as we can to try to protect the pace and quiet of the village,” she said.
Cllr Juliet Layton (Lib Dem, Water Park) said she was pleased by the amount of work the venue had done to make sure resident’s concerns were addressed.
“I think they’ve consulted very well with the locals and the parish council,” she said.
