Cotswold District Council cabinet leader Cllr Lynden Stowe has refused to engage in gay marriage debate

THE Conservative leader of Cotswold District Council 's cabinet has once again made it clear the council has no intention of debating the issue of gay marriage.

At last week's meeting of the council's cabinet, Cirencester resident Ian Hamilton asked cabinet leader Cllr Lynden Stow (Con, Campden-Vale) if he would congratulate the Scottish government for introducing legislation to allow gay marriage from 2015.

The cabinet leader had a one word answer: “No”.
