A MAJOR fire has broken out at Luckington Manor.
Emergency services were called to the scene at lunchtime, amid reports a major blaze had engulfed the building.
The roof of the Grade I listed section of the 17th Century house has partially collapsed, but staff who were in the building at the time escaped unhurt.
Fire crews from Malmesbury and Chippenham were first to arrive, but up to a dozen appliances including Tetbury, Cirencester, Corsham and Melksham were brought in to fight the fire, in along with an aerial platform from Swindon.
The road has been closed and fire crews expect to be on the scene until morning. The owners of the Grade II listed manor are believed to be away.
