A NEW monument commemorating Chedworth’s 2,000 year history and welcoming visitors to the village has been unveiled.

The new village sign, which was created as part of its celebrations for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, was unveiled on Saturday August 25.

The design incorporates a number of elements of the village’s history including its roman heritage, the 1491 visit by Queen Elizabeth, wife of Henry VII, and elements of the medieval stained glass in St Andrew’s Church.
