New-look gym and cafe unveiled at Cricklade Leisure Centre by double Olympic gold medallist Pete Reed

A TRANSFORMED gym and café in Cricklade is set to be unveiled by double Olympic gold medallist Pete Reed this weekend.

The £100,000 overhaul at Cricklade Leisure Centre will opened by the Olympic rower and former Cirencester Deer Park student in an official ceremony on Sunday, September 9 from 11am.

Over the past six weeks, the former gym and bar area at the community-run centre has been completely knocked through and re-built to open up a spacious training room and new coffee shop and bar.

Leisure centre manager Gary Walker said he was delighted to have the inspirational athlete for the official opening and hoped that the leisure centre could build its own legacy in the spirit of the Olympics.
