Skaters showcase their stunning skills (VIDEO)

A RAFT of young skateboarding talent showed off their moves at Cirencester skate park.

As part of Decimal’s Skate Day, around 130 skateboarders of all ages and abilities came together to take part in competitions, listen to music and learn new tricks.

The annual event, which is hosted by Decimal skate store’s Gaz Parsons in conjunction with Cotswold District Council’s Summer off the Streets programme, also gave young talent the chance to learn from some of the experienced sponsored skaters that attended.

Gaz said: "As part of being a skater owned store, I try to support the local skateboarders, as well as many local youth projects, events and artists."

The store at Swan Yard in Cirencester provided prizes for the event, donated by its distributors, which Gaz said helped to attract a good standard of skating.

Gaz is now working with Cirencester Town Council to develop a new skate facility for the town, which he hopes will nurture the growing talent in the area and inspire others to get involved.
