Bourton-on-the-Water company Milspeed have been awarded the coveted Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade

A COTSWOLD business is enjoying a double celebration – not only is it celebrating its 25th birthday this year, it has also won a prestigious award for international trade.
Milspeed, a Bourton-on-the-Water company exporting shoe materials around the world have been awarded the coveted Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.
Directors Ian Milhench and David Speed were presented with the award by Gloucestershire Lord Lieutenant Dame Janet Trotter at a ceremony last month.
The company, based at Bourton Industrial Site, exports a range of materials to China, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, South Africa and Europe for use by some of the world’s largest brands, including Nike and Clarks.
It also runs a reprocessing plant from its Bourton site, which processes plastics and materials, avoiding landfill and reducing costs.
Director Ian Milhench said he was delighted to receive the award.
“It would not have been possible to achieve this award without the dedicated support of a great team in Milspeed in the UK and abroad,” he said.
“We also owe our success to our loyal customers and suppliers.
“It remains our goal to create the highest performance and lowest carbon cost materials available at competitive prices backed by outstanding service.”
