A RESHUFFLE within the ranks at Gloucestershire police has seen a new superintendent appointed to lead crime prevention in the Cotswolds.
Superintendent Tony Godwin has been appointed the new Superintendent for the Cotswolds, replacing Supt Jim McCarthy.
This follows the promotion of Supts Gary Thompson and Jerry Foster-Turner to the rank of Chief Superintendent.
Chief Constable Mick Matthews said the promotions had led to a reshuffle in the senior policing team.
“Gary and Jerry have performed fantastically well in their previous roles within Gloucester and our Operations department respectively, and it now gives other Superintendents an opportunity to move into new positions,” he said.
“I know that each and every one of them will thrive in their new roles, and I’m very pleased to have such a great team of officers at the helm.
“They, in turn, have fantastic officers and staff working with them and I am sure that together we will all help maintain our current low crime levels in the months to come.”
The other new appointments are as follows:
- Supt Bridget Woodhall has replaced Supt Neil Mantle for the Cheltenham local policing area.
- Supt Emma Ackland has replaced Supt Gary Thompson for the Gloucester local policing area.
- Supt Jim McCarthy has replaced Supt Bridget Woodhall for Stroud local policing area.
- Supt Rob Priddy has replaced Supt Emma Ackland for Tewkesbury local policing area.
