Pensioner likely to be given supervision order for double grope of Tetbury shop worker
7:00am Thursday 2nd August 2012 in News
A PENSIONER twice groped a 21-year-old female shop worker in Tetbury, a court has found.
But Keith Wild was ruled mentally unfit to stand trial on two charges of sexually assaulting the woman in Tetbury on Aug 16 and 17 last year.
On both days the 72-year-old, of Romney Road, Tetbury, had entered the shop, grabbed the shop assistant’s hand and placed it on his crotch before touching her breast. On the second occasion police were called and Wild was arrested.
After deciding he was mentally unfit to stand trial, the case was adjourned to await reports. Possible options open to the court will be to place Wild under a guardianship order, supervised by Gloucestershire County Council , or a supervision order, which would be dealt with by probation, social services and the health authority.
An absolute discharge or hospital order, are other options open to the court but would be unsuitable in this case, Wild was told.
