Tetbury man assaulted in "nasty, unprovoked attack"

A TETBURY man was pushed to the ground, where he was punched and kicked in what police have called a "nasty, unprovoked attack".

The 56-year-old was walking with his wife along a footpath near Lowfield Road at around 10.30pm on Saturday June 30 when he was verbally abused by a group of youths.

He was pushed to the ground, where he was punched and kicked by one or more of the group, suffering a bloody nose, pain to his right arm and leg as well as the back of his head.

The attackers are described as white miles, between 17 and 19 years old.

One was slim, around 5ft 10in tall, wearing a black and white striped top and was carrying a rucksack.

The other is described as stocky, around 5ft 6in tall, had short brown hair and may have had a earring in his left ear.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Gloucestershire police on 101, quoting incident number 547 of June 30.
