Cirencester schoolchildren forced to cross dual carriageway

SCHOOLCHILDREN were forced to walk across a busy main road this morning after an underpass in Cirencester flooded.

The underpass on Old Tetbury Road was flooded this morning due to a blocked drain, meaning schoolchildren were forced to cross the busy dual carriageway.

A crew from Cirencester Fire Station attended at just after 9am and cleared the blocked drain which released the water and cleared the flooding.

redwilts is correct. There were PCSO's and staff from Deer Park School present ensuring pupils walked down to the bridge at the bottom of the hill to cross. I didn't see any students endangering themselves or others on Tuesday morning.
