A BED and Breakfast in Bourton-on-the-Water has been named as one of the friendliest in Britain.

The Lark’s Rise, owned by Bill and Barbara Barr, was a finalist in the Friendliest Bed and Breakfast of the Year category in the AA’s annual Bed and Breakfast Awards.

Although the award went to a guest house in North Yorkshire, the nomination marks the Lark’s Rise out as one of the friendliest places to stay in the Cotswolds.

The coveted accolade of AA Guest Accommodation of the Year for England 2012 went to Broadway’s East House Bed and Breakfast.
